So, you are competing in this year’s CTF Intramural Open!
Congratulations!
85 of you are in this together!
That’s a CTF PR! WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Now what?

Well, here are some guidelines that will help you sail through the next 5 weekends with ease.

GUIDELINE #1: Have Fun!
Yes, do your best. Yes, talk smack with other teams. Yes, show your Team Spirit.
That’s awesome.
Just keep in mind this is about celebrating The Process with your fellow CTF community.
Very few other gyms in the world are doing what we are doing.
Embrace it. Enjoy it. Send out The Love.

GUIDELINE #2: How should you approach the workouts?
First off: The workouts will post every Thursday night on the CFHQ Games site here.
CTF will follow up with a blog post Thursday evening with the CTF Intramural Scaled and Beginner Options.

Secondly: Rest. When the workouts come out on Thursday, use Friday as a rest day or a light Test Day. (Test Day meaning come into Open Gym and experiment lightly with the workouts as you gear up for Saturday.)
Our Friday workouts will follow regularly scheduled CTF programming and not be reflective of The Games programming.

Third: Use The Tools you have learned so far on your Journey.
Try your very best and STAY POSITIVE.
Do not compare yourself to others. They are not going through what you are and vice versa.
Do not worry if there is something you “cannot” do.
Shrug. Smile. No big deal.
In the end, you will understand what I mean.
In the end, if you have done your best, that’s good enough for the day, the Team and YOU!
(Remember, just like in life, you get points just for showing up and getting in there!)

GUIDELINE #3: Saturday’s a CrossFit Day!
Think of the Saturday Heats like a high school track meet.
You will have your own “lane” (and your own judge). We will all be on the same clock.
You will be asked to judge those that judge you.
Competing teams will judge and be judged by others.
It’s okay to no rep bad reps. Doing so will make us all better.
Pay attention to the Judges Standards on The Games site as to what constitutes bad reps.

IF YOU CAN’T MAKE A SATURDAY CLASS, no big deal, just schedule an appointment with a coach as soon as possible to secure your alternate time.

GUIDELINE #4: Scoring
If you doing The Open as rx’d and have signed up for The Open on The CFHQ Games site, you are on the CrossFit Hilton Head Team. Your scores must be in by Monday night.

IF YOU ARE DOING RX’D, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR PUTTING IN YOUR SCORES ON THE CFHQ GAMES SITE, NOT CTF. (There is absolutely nothing I can do for you if you miss the specified time to get your scores in. That’s up to CFHQ, not CTF. I wish there was, but I can’t. Get those puppies in asap so you don’t forget!)

All CTF Intramural Scores (RX’d, Scaled and Beginner) will also be put into The CTF Intramural Team Score Tracker by Sara Thacker.

The Score Tracker will be made available to the public mid-week each week to see where you and your Team rank in the standings.

GUIDELINE #5: Bring family, food, drink, chairs, and your everyday awesomeness.

Remember to use the OVERFLOW PARKING IN WEXFORD PLAZA AND NOT PARK IN THE FIRST ROW OF PARKING SPOTS ALONG THE SIDEWALK OF THE PLAZA… we need to be good neighbors!

You are already more awesome for doing this.
You are already part of only what a handful of CF gyms in the world are doing! You are pioneers! Brave pioneers!
(Our Intramural Teams and our scaling options put us in a very, very exclusive minority.)

At the end of The CTF Intramural Open we’ll team up for an 85 person hug and get some pics.
Oh… and be ready for lots of sweet surprises along the way.

YEAHHHHH BUDDYYYYYY!
