A unique three-day walking and running event showcasing the Lowcountry’s natural beauty, world-class amenities, friendly locals and remarkable community spirit, the second annual LoCo Motion returns to Beaufort County, September 28-30, 2012.
Seriously fun, proceeds from Carolina Cups’ signature fundraiser benefit local and regional breast cancer screening, research and treatment programs.
Carefully orchestrated to appeal to every fitness level – especially those tired of the ubiquitous 5Ks and half marathons – pink-clad participants may run or walk a different 10-mile course each day at three distinctly different venues. Every day our courses will feature cheering stations, colorful pitstops (bathrooms, water, Gatorade, etc), and awesome after-parties. While completing all three legs is not required, those who finish all 30 miles will be awarded the Triple Nipple commemorative medal.
If the distance seems too crazy to comprehend, trust us, it is doable. Along your training journey, you’ll build the strength and motivation to physically cross the finish line, but it is the unfathomable support from breast cancer survivors that will change your life.
The final leg of the final day is back on Hilton Head Island in the beautiful Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort. This all-beach route starts/finishes in front of the Omni Hotel (formerly the Hilton) and includes North Forest Beach, Coligny Beach, South Forest Beach and the famed community of The Sea Pines Resort. In addition to adoring fans, our abundant dolphins will no doubt accompany you every step of the way.
The weekend concludes around noon with Day Three Awards and an After-Party hosted by the Omni in their beach-front pavilion.
