The park is large. The competition will be on the “Burkes Beach Road” side of the park. Burkes Beach Road and Castnet Drive intersect. Burkes Beach is the Road you will want to use when turning off the main road, (Hwy 278).
If using GPS, search the intersection of Burkes Beach Road and Castnet Drive. This will take you directly to the portion of the park we use.

* REMEMBER although it may look like your hotel is far from the park on a map, Hilton Head Island is only 14 miles long in total, the hotel options we’ve listed are approximately 6 driving miles away from the park.

How Workouts will be Scored

INDIVIDUALS:
You will be scored throughout the day in points.
The points you receive will be determined by the place you finish for each workout.
The lower the points, the better you place.
If your division meets the minimum requirement of competitors (25+) there will be a Championship “Unknown & Unknowable” Workout TBA on competition day.
If the division does not meet the minimum requirement of competitors (25+) for a Championship Workout TBA day of the competition, your total score across all 4 workouts will determine how you finish for the day. THERE WILL BE NO CHAMPIONSHIP WORKOUT FOR THE BEGINNERS REGARDLESS OF NUMBER OF COMPETITORS.

In the event of a tie at either the end of 4 Workouts or The Championship Workout, we will take the PLACE FINISHED from “THE DETERMINATION WORKOUT” to break the tie. If there is still a tie, the PLACE FINISHED from “THE ENDURANCE WORKOUT” will be used to break the tie. If there is still a tie, the PLACE FINISHED in “THE SPRINT LADDER” will be used to break the tie. If there is still a tie the PLACE FINISHED in “THE STONE LADDER” will be used to break the tie.

TEAMS:
You will be scored throughout the day in points. The points you receive will be determined by the place you finish for each WOD. THE PLACE YOU FINISH IN YOUR DIVISION AFTER THE 4 WORKOUTS WILL DICTATE THE WINNERS FOR THE DAY. The lowest total number of points determines place. In the event of a tie (for the top 3 teams only) at the end of 4 WORKOUTS we will take the times from “THE DETERMINATION TEAMWORK WORKOUT” to break the tie. If there is still a tie, the reps from “THE BARBELL TEAMWORK WORKOUT” will be used to break the tie. If there is still a tie, the place finished in “THE ENDURANCE WORKOUT” will be used to break the tie. If there is still a tie, the reps from “THE TEAM TIRE FLIP SPRINT” will be used to break the tie.

If you have 35 athletes or more competing in your division:

If you have 50 athletes or more competing in your division:
$500 to first place
$100 to second place

BEGINNER DIVISION WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR CASH PRIZES.

TEAMS:
If you have 25 Teams or more competing in your division:
$800 to first place
$400 to second place

INDIVIDUALS Divisions and Details

RX’d – Male/Female
Masters RX’d- 35+ Male/Female
Scaled – Male/Female
Masters Scaled- 35+ Male/Female
Beginners- Male/Female
Teens 13-18, may compete at Beginner, Scaled or Rx’d. There will be no separate scoring division for Teens

Masters divisions for prescribed and scaled will be delineated by the 35+ age ONLY. The workouts will remain unchanged for Masters competing in prescribed and scaled. There will be no Masters division for Beginners.
SPECIAL NOTE: There must be a minimum of 10 competitors in Masters divisions to host the division, otherwise the division will be absorbed into the primary divisional option (Rx or Scaled).

FINALS:
There must be a minimum of 25 competitors in a division to command a separate FINALS workout consisting of the top 8 competitors.
There will be no separate FINALS for BEGINNERS.
The Beginner division will not be eligible for cash prizes

TEAMS Divisions and Details

Team Divisions: Prescribed and Scaled.
All Teams must consist of 2 male and 2 female team members.
Highest place finish over four workouts wins the event.

2014 I CAN Games TEAM Workouts

Workout #1: Endurance

Prescribed:
2 rounds for time of:
200m swim
20 burpees
400m run

Teams may switch team members out at any point during the workout.
One team member in the water at a time.

Workout #2: Sprint. Nobody puts Baby in a corner.
AMRAP in 3:00 of team tire flips of Baby

Workout #3: Barbell Teamwork
1 person is allowed to move a time
1 barbell per team
A male must follow a female and a female must follow a male.
In 10 minutes:
Complete 50 thrusters @ 95#
AMRAP in the remaining time of:
20 double unders
10 Front Squats 95#
10 G20H 95#
20 Air Squats

Workout #4: Determination Teamwork Relay
For Time:

Each team member must cycle through the relay before time is called.
Team members may help each other change weights.
A full cycle of the relay by the team member must be completed before another team member can begin their cycle.

20 cleans 135/75 OR 10 cleans @ 225/135 (this decision must be decided by each team member BEFORE the relay begins. THE ATHLETE MAY NOT CHANGE THEIR MIND ONCE THE RELAY BEGINS.)
